Discovering the Genome website and curriculum

Recent headlines have featured new discoveries about the genomics of the “superfood” quinoa and of male pattern baldness. Genomics research on diseases like cancer continues daily, even when not covered by the media.
If you’re interested in bringing excitement and knowledge about genomics to your students, access the University of Pennsylvania’s free genomics resources on its Discovering the Genome website.
The Discovering the Genome project provides basic-to-advanced content and engaging activities to develop and enhance genomics literacy. Focused on genomes, the content is ready for use by all science teachers, even those with little genomics background. This free web-based curriculum is available for teachers everywhere and we encourage you to incorporate its plug-and-play online modules in your lesson plans this spring or next fall.
