School Advisory Council (SAC) Info Session
Posted by School District of Philadelphia on January 23, 2017
When Victoria Trower, a new parent at James J. Sullivan School saw “SAC Meeting” on the school’s monthly calendar, she was intrigued. “So I popped in the office and I asked, ‘What’s that about?’ and the Assistant Principal told me, ‘The SAC is a place where parents can have a voice and really make a difference,'” Ms. Trower explained. “And I said, ‘I wanna do that.'”
School Advisory Councils (SACs) are catching on in Philadelphia! Parents/family members, community members, school staff, students, and principals are coming together to support academic achievement, improve school climate and culture, and strengthen family engagement at the school level — because that’s where change starts!
Come see what all the buzz is about and learn how to join or support a SAC at your neighborhood school! We’re holding one more SAC Information Session: Thursday, January 26 at either 10:00am OR 5:30pm, here at 440 N. Broad. Register: http://www.philasd.org/sac or 215-400-4180, option #3.
