The Executive Director is the Chief Officer of the organization and is responsible for conducting its daily operations in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with the procedures set forth by the Board of Directors.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Director is the Chief Officer of the organization and is responsible for conducting its daily operations in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with the procedures set forth by the Board of Directors. The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows: • Provide leadership to the organization’s public health programming efforts serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender populations; • Provide oversight to all organizational staff, volunteers and programs. Must create solid strategies to develop staff skills and monitor their performance. Must develop strong measures to assess the effectiveness of programs and develop plans to enhance program effectiveness as needed; • Lead the development of reports to funders and board of directors that summarizes annual, quarterly, monthly and, when necessary weekly progress against organizational goals; • Develop and administer operating policies and procedures; • Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to facilitate the budgeting process, identify and implement cost-saving measures, pursue new funding opportunities and monitor financial performance; • Lead COLOURS ability to pursue opportunities to expand our operations programmatically, and to deepen COLOURS ability to impact the community and individuals it serves • Provide administrative leadership and coach/mentor staff members; • Serve as the lead spokesperson for COLOURS on local, state, and national levels, developing and coordinating public awareness, visibility, and brand enhancing activities • Build strong partnerships with other HIV/AIDS service providers as well as build working relationships with non HIV providers to ensure the organization has linkages to resources to meet the varied needs of consumers

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Masters degree from an accredited university, MSW strongly preferred. • Minimum 5 years of management experience; • Demonstrated experience in grant writing; • Ability to develop and strengthen relationships with funders, partners, and the LGBTQ community; • Extensive experience in preparing and managing budgets; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and analytical skills; • Regional HIV Training and HIV Prevention Counseling certifications required; • Willing to work some evenings and weekends.
