Road Map for New Executive Directors
Posted by La Salle Nonprofit Center on November 28, 2016
We’re not saying that being a new nonprofit executive director is like being lost in the wilderness, subject to the caprice of the environment, but there’s no denying that it involves navigating new territory.
That’s why our experienced executive director created this field guide/road map/strategy/discussion session – The Road Map for New Executive Directors – to help you set the direction that will lead to a successful tenure as your organization’s staff leader.
As a new ED, all eyes are on you and you have many key new relationships and roles to negotiate. Pressure from the expectation that you must deliver in so many aspects of nonprofit management can be overwhelming and also isolating. It’s your skills that brought you to this position, but they haven’t necessarily prepared you for what to expect, nor given you the executive level management practices that will be needed to navigate these new demands and expectations.
This class will combine professional instruction with peer interaction to help pave the way to confident and informed leadership.
It is open to executive directors with two years’ experience or less who want to excel as leaders.
