Writing and Assessment Retreat

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for your institution to further deepen its commitment to high impact community engagement and develop scholarship and assessment skills.

On Monday, November 14th, 2016 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, we will be hosting a Writing and Assessment Retreat for PACC faculty and community partners. This event will feature workshops and guidance from Patti Clayton, an independent consultant (PHC Ventures) with over fifteen years of experience as a practitioner-scholar and educational developer in community-campus engagement and experiential education. The event is co-sponsored by Lehigh University, Moravian College, and Northampton Community College through a PACC regional mini-grant. The event will take place at Lehigh University in the newly renovated Williams Hall. More information will follow upon registration.

The goal for the day is to provide a space for scholar-practitioners and community partners to dive deep into their community-engaged scholarship development and assessment techniques with the goal of having tangible plans and tools developed during the day. It will be a blend of learning and light facilitation to ensure that you have space and time to achieve meaningful progress on your own goals.

There will be a bit of homework and preparation provided so that we will hit the ground running that morning.

The cost for the day is $40 per participant from Campus Compact member institutions and $100 per participant from Non-Campus Compact member institutions. and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Space is limited!

PATTI H. CLAYTON is an independent consultant (PHC Ventures) with over fifteen years of experience as a practitioner-scholar and educational developer in community-campus engagement and experiential education. She serves as a Senior Scholar with the Center for Service and Learning at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), a Visiting Fellow with the New England Resource Center for Higher Education (NERCHE), and a Senior Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). She has consulted with over 125 colleges and universities in the US, Canada, and Ireland, including facilitating institution-wide visioning and planning processes for community-campus engagement, supporting campuses in applying for and leveraging the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, guiding inter-disciplinary and inter-institutional scholarly collaborations, facilitating professional development across all partners in community-campus engagement, and co-producing a wide range of campus-internal and field-wide resources.
