Discovering the Genome curriculum
Posted by University of Pennsylvania on September 5, 2016
We’re excited to let you know the University of Pennsylvania has launched Discovering the Genome, free web-based curriculum for teachers everywhere. Check it out here: http://discoveringthegenome.org/.
The Discovering the Genome project provides basic-to-advanced content and engaging activities to develop and enhance genomics literacy. Focused on genomes, the content is packaged into plug-and-play online modules ready for use by all science teachers, even those with little genomics background.
Module topics include Tour of the Genome, DNA Sequencing, Bioinformatics, Browsing Genomes and more. The content complements existing resources but is also the first available to explore some of the more advanced topics.
We hope you will find the curriculum useful for your students and encourage you to spread the word about this new program to your colleagues.
If you have any questions about the program or need additional information, please email discoveringthegenome@seas.upenn.edu.
Here’s a sample tweet if you’re able to help increase awareness of this new offering.
