Facilitator, Digital Skills and Bicycle Thrills
Posted by Mayor's Commission on Literacy on August 22, 2016
I’m thrilled to share that Pedalogical has just started an exciting new relationship with The Mayor’s Commission on Literacy, supporting them in the management and development of their online adult learning programs.
As part of this work, I have the opportunity to help them hire an amazing facilitator for Digital Skills and Bicycle Thrills: an innovative blended-learning program that increases the number of safe and healthy bike riders on Philly streets in low-income neighborhoods, while simultaneously increasing participants’ digital literacy skills. DSBT provides learners with free memberships to Indego community bikes, in exchange for their participation in a 4-week online course in bicycle safety. Each cohort also goes on group rides throughout the city, to put what they learn in class into action.
Who I’m looking for:
You are a compassionate and responsive educator/facilitator; you’re responsible, a self-starter, organized, dependable, and a pleasure to work with; bicycle know-how is a plus!
(Think you may be a great fit but unsure if you’re a match? Don’t be shy – reach out below.)
What you’ll do:
Lead four sections of the online Digital Skills & Bicycle Thrills course over the next year – this will involve teaching an online course (already created, ready to go) to classes of 20-30 students. There will be opportunities to develop and facilitate in-person events as a kick-off, ending celebration, and midpoint check-in. You’ll also help us to assess the program and figure out how to make it even more powerful moving forward.
This is an amazing opportunity to be a part of an innovative pilot program through the Mayor’s Office, and have flexibility in your schedule while doing great work!
