NCTM Accepting Proposals for Teacher Professional Development Grants
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics supports the professional development of teachers with the aim of ensuring equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students.
To that end, NCTM is accepting applications for its Teacher Professional Development Grants for Grades 6–8 Teachers grant program.
Through the program, grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded to persons currently teaching math in grades 6-8. Grant applications must delineate the teacher(s)’ professional development plan and address how the proposed project will improve his/her competence and affect students’ learning. While the grant does not fund the purchase of technology, proposals that include the use of technology to enhance student learning are encouraged.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current NCTM member (on or before October 15, 2016) and teach mathematics in grades 6-8 at least 50 percent of the school day.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the NCTM website.
DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 4, 2016
