What is Mighty Writers? Our mission is to teach kids to think and write with clarity. We offer daily afterschool academies, long- and short-term writing classes, teen scholar programs, mentorships, college prep courses and essay writing classes at four Mighty Writers studios throughout the city. All programs are free to Philadelphia students. Over 300 of the city’s best creative minds (writers, teachers, journalists, etc.) teach and mentor 2,000 kids at Mighty Writers annually.
What will happen at the event? Professional athletes and celebrities will share their ideas about our topic to inspire our writing. We’ll have music, too! Then, we’ll spend 20 minutes writing about “If I were President…” If you are joining the event as a camp or organization, we’ll announce your group during the “shout out” portion of the event. Local television and other media will be present to cover the event.
