How Immigrant and Refugee Communities Can Strengthen Neighborhood Revitalization

America’s cities are changing; newcomers are arriving daily with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and languages. These newcomers share similar needs with long-time residents, such as access to quality affordable housing, good jobs, and vibrant commercial corridors. How can neighborhood revitalization organizations build on these shared needs?
Join community developers and immigrant and refugee service providers to explore the intersection of building revitalized neighborhoods and welcoming newly arrived and immigrant populations. Participants will learn about the critical growth of this intersection locally and nationally, hear how innovative pathways can be built to address both affordable housing needs and economic opportunity while revitalizing commercial corridors, and better understand what resources and tools are available for incorporating intentional planning in neighborhood revitalization for both newcomers and long-time residents.
