The Women’s Community Revitalization Project: Founded in 1986, WCRP is committed to social and economic justice for low-income women and their families. WCRP develops affordable housing, provides supportive services, advocates for policy change; and honors and promotes leadership, dignity, and equity in communities.
Key responsibilities of the Tenant Case Manager are to provide direct services to tenant families and support them in achieving housing stability. This position reports directly to the Coordinator of Tenant Services.
Case Management:
Direct provision of services to ensure that tenants:
Are supported in assessing their needs and developing plans for achieving self-defined goals, especially those that increase their economic security and strengthen their ability to nurture and care for themselves and their family
Have the capacity to pay their rent and maintain their homes thus achieving housing stability
Have access to resources in the community that support families in times of crisis and address specific family needs.
Are supported in building leadership skills to participate effectively on WCRP’s board, committees and other community activities. Are assisted in building a more caring community.
Coordination with Property Management:
Provide services that will increase the likelihood that tenants will pay rent on time and fulfil other responsibilities under the lease
Advocate for families when there is a lease violation or property management issue
Work with property management staff to clarify and help resolve issues
Participate in conflict resolution sessions
General Responsibilities:
• Document work to ensure that WCRP’s database is updated and maintained
• Attend team meetings
• Participate in review of reports on program and tenant progress
Requirements
• A minimum of three years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience working in direct service provision in a setting focusing on family empowerment
• Bachelor degree a plus
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus
• Demonstrated commitment to working with low income women
• Ability to work independently and to creatively solve problems
• Strong organization and communication skills
Salary: $19,000 to $21,000 for 20 hours per week.
