12+ Fellow, 2016-2017

12 PLUS (12+) is seeking candidates for the 2016-2017 Fellows Class. 12+ is an education nonprofit that aims to create college-going cultures in partner high schools throughout Philadelphia. Fellows are passionate individuals who dedicate one year to serving students in these schools. Fellows are commissioned to create a culture of achievement within the PLUS Center, where they will be staffed full-time to execute college access and readiness programming and to mentor and empower students unlock their full potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the leadership of the Site Director, Fellows implement school-wide 12+ programming, which includes RAISE (freshman transition / college readiness), Flight (college access), and PLUS Leaders (student leadership) programs. Fellows also plan and execute school-wide, culture-building events such as College Week and Career Day. Most importantly, Fellows are commissioned to build personal relationships with individual students, transforming student mindsets and empowering them to succeed in education beyond the 12th grade.

The Fellows experience includes intensive training before the start of the school year, ongoing professional development, and monthly team activities. Fellows will receive a monthly living stipend.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Alignment with the mission of 12+

• Heart for empowering students and urban communities

• Strategic thinker with a creative edge

• Interpersonal skills to work with youth, teachers, and administrators

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good organization and time management skills a must

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
