Newman Civic Fellows Award – Nominations due by February 29th
The nomination period is now open for Campus Compact’s 2016 Newman Civic Fellows Award, which recognizes community-involved student leaders. As you know, the Newman Civic Fellows Award honors the late Frank Newman, one of Campus Compact’s founders and a tireless advocate for the civic engagement of higher education.
In the spirit of Dr. Newman’s leadership, we are seeking nominations of undergraduate or graduate students who are proven leaders with both the motivation and ability to make substantial contributions toward public problem solving. They will have also taken action in pursuit of long-term positive social change. Each member president and chancellor can nominate one student to become a Newman Civic Fellow who will then represent their school in a national group of student leaders.
The timeline for the 2016 Newman Civic Fellows award process is as follows:
January 6, 2016 – nomination form opens; announcement sent to all member presidents and chancellors
February 29, 2016 – Newman nomination period closes; all nominations due by 4:30 PM EST
March 31, 2016 – 2016 Newman Civic Fellows announced
As in years past, all Newman Civic Fellow nominations must be submitted electronically. The 2016 Newman Civic Fellows nomination form can be found here. More information can be found on the Campus Compact website at http://compact.org/initiatives/awards-programs/the-frank-newman-leadership-award/.
