TeenSHARP College Prep and Youth Leadership Organization is looking for Saturday session instructors and academic advisors!

What is TeenSHARP?
TeenSHARP prepares students of color in the Greater Philadelphia region for admission into highly selective colleges while developing them as ambassadors of higher education in their communities and connecting them to premier leadership and enrichment opportunities.

Who are we looking for?
We are recruiting individuals with passion for youth empowerment and social justice to instruct the TeenSHARP leadership curriculum and/or implement TeenSHARP academic and college advising models. We are looking for passionate individuals who meet most of the following criteria:

Instructors/Academic Advisors:
 Bachelor’s Degree (or at least 2-3 years of undergraduate coursework completed) preferred
 Strong academic track record
 Experience working with a college prep program, college admissions office or an academic advising program is a plus
 Strong written and verbal communication skills
 Strong active listening and relationship building skills
 Passionate about working with underrepresented students
 Commitment to social justice
 Saturday availability during the school year

Location: TeenSHARP sessions take place from 10am-2pm on Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters on the Rutgers University – Camden campus (the program does not meet on Thanksgiving and Easter and has a winter holiday break).

Time commitment:
Instructors will work approximately 12 hours a week (included Saturday classes).
Advisors should expect a 20-30 hour commitment per month. Advisors will work about 5 hours a week (Saturday presence required only during academic advising seasons that occur three times a year; 7-8 Saturdays in total).

Professional Development: Both instructors and academic advisors will receive training prior to the start of service and in the course of the program year.

Compensation: Instructors and academic advisors will receive a nominal stipend.
