International Reading Association Accepting Applications for Academic Research Grant
DEADLINE: JANUARY 16, 2016
The International Reading Association, a nonprofit, global network of individuals and institutions committed to worldwide literacy, supports literacy professionals through a wide range of resources, advocacy efforts, voluntarism, and professional development activities. The association promotes high levels of literacy for all by improving the quality of reading instruction; disseminating research and information about reading; and encouraging the lifetime reading habit.
To that end, the association is accepting applications for the Esther Zolt Academic Research Grant. Through the program, which was established in memory of Esther Zolt, a life-long elementary classroom teacher, a single grant of $2,500 is awarded annually to a research study on the effective classroom implementation of the In2Books curriculum that inspires others to improve teaching and learning in innovative ways.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current IRA member in good standing.
Visit the IRA website for complete program guidelines, information about previous grant recipients, and application instructions.
