Early Childhood Education (ECE) Workforce Solutions Brainstorm
Building on the momentum of the ECE Workforce Summit, the ECE Workforce Solutions Brainstorm will bring together ECE employers to brainstorm various proposed solutions to the myriad of ECE workforce issues. This session will be an interactive learning opportunity, giving attendees a forum to weigh-in on proposed
workforce solutions.

- The childcare industry is growing overall at a rate of 17% nationally and at a similar rate locally.
- Childcare services are the third fastest growing subsector of the education industry cluster (PA Department of Labor and Industry, 2013).
- With the advent of new Head Start and other federal funds such as Early Head Start, Philadelphia anticipates approximately 400 new jobs will be created.
- If universal pre-K is instituted in Pennsylvania, 28,000 new jobs will be created, 34% of which (9,520) will be in Southeastern PA.
