Senior Associate, Development, Food Trust

The Senior Associate for Development will have diverse nonprofit fundraising experience, including a strong track record in developing grant proposals, building corporate partnerships, managing annual giving campaigns and overseeing fundraising events. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for developing and executing creative fundraising strategies. This Senior Staff position will report to the Development Director, and will work closely with the Development Associate, program staff, and external partners.
Responsibilities Include:
• Work with the Development Director, Executive and Deputy Directors, and other program teams to research and identify public and foundation funders, and to develop, write, review and submit grant proposals and reports.
• Lead outreach and cultivation efforts to develop and maintain relationships with local and national corporate sponsors, including program and event sponsors (such as for Night Markets, farmers’ markets, and conferences) as well as Food Trust agency sponsors.
• Supervise and support development and communications staff to generate revenue from individual donors and special events, including developing strategies, creating annual appeal mailings and working with external partners to plan and implement fundraising events.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; a graduate degree in a related field of study is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of related experience in nonprofit development activities, including successful experience obtaining major funding from foundations, individuals, and companies. Additional qualifications include: strong research, writing and editing skills; excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment; willingness to think creatively about new approaches; supervisory experience; and a commitment to The Food Trust’s mission.
