Academic Tutors ( 2 positions: 1 Mathematics; 1 English/Language Arts)
EducationWorks is seeking highly committed, professionals to provide academic support services to middle school students.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and experience working in schools or community-based educational setting.
Will assist classroom teachers by providing in-class assistance as well as small-group pull out for students needing additional attention. Candidates should have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with Philadelphia public schools is preferred.
The Academic Tutor position is approximately 35 hours per week.
Socialized Recess Leaders
Supervise students in the lunchroom, on the playground, outside the building and in other areas of the school. Support the transition from the cafeteria to the playground, and the return to classes. Guide children’s play time to ensure safe, fun, and engaging recess periods. Provide organized games and activities to eliminate fighting, bullying, and other negative behaviors.Work with school leadership, lunchroom staff, Noon Time Aids, and teachers to support a positive climate during recess and the transition periods.
During inclement weather, provide indoor recess/game activities so that children are constructively engaged when remaining in the cafeteria.
Must be energetic, enthused about structured recreation for children, well-organized, with good communication skills.
The Socialized Recess Leader position is approximately 20 hours per week.
