JEVS Human Services is seeking a paid intern for its 21st Century PASS program.

Reports to: Manager of Youth Services, CS Youth Services
Funding: Grant
Time Period: Immediately – June 30, 2015
Hours: 21 hours/week, ideally three days a week

The PASS Youth Services Assistant assists with the delivery of the 21st Century PASS program, a dynamic program that prepares at-risk high school students (seniors) for college and career after high school. The intern will guide students on college access, service-learning and 21st skills preparation. The intern will also help Career Strategies Youth Services staff organize and schedule the activities of the PASS program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates activities as it relates to the PASS program
Meets one-on-one and in groups with George Washington High School students
Participates in the planning and delivery of 21st Century Skills activities
Collects and maintains records and case notes on PASS students and records data in agency data system
Tracks and communicates with PASS students and education staff regarding student progress in college admissions, SAT prep, and other program related activities
Participates in special projects relevant to the PASS program and CS Youth Services as needed
Schedules and coordinates youth service activities
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Experience and expertise in individual and group instruction of subject tutoring
Experience in college counseling and/or career assessment
Bachelor of Science Degree preferred; major in education and/or educational guidance preferred
Experience working with at-risk high school students preferred
Excellent proven verbal and written communication skills and experience in preparing summary reports related to program operations
Strong organizational skills and willingness to work in a team
Strong communication skills with young adults and families
Travel required to George Washington High School
Must be available from 2:30 – 5:00 pm on Thursdays to attend PASS sessions at George Washington High School
