Job Corps is a no-cost/FREE education and vocational training program that helps young people ages 16 through 24 get a better job, make more money and take control of their lives. At Job Corps students enroll to learn a trade, earn a high school diploma or GED and get help finding a good job. When young adults join the program, they will be paid a monthly allowance; the longer they stay with the program, the more their allowance will be. Job Corps provides career counseling and transition support to its students for up to 12 months after they graduate from the program.
Students receive hands-on career training in more than 100 occupational areas. Through work-based learning opportunities, students also participate in on-the-job training at real work sites. While at Job Corps, students receive medical and dental care, housing, meals and bi-weekly living allowances.
After graduation through employer partnerships, Job Corps places students with local, regional and national employers. Job Corps has one of the highest job placement rates among the nation’s job training programs. Job Corps graduates go on to careers in the private sector or move on to higher education or advanced training programs.
If you have any questions, please contact Ronald Spangler or Terece Gamella at 610-278-5933. Please feel free to disseminate this information to your team and seniors that have graduated this past June.
