Udemy Accepting Applications for Online Courses That Benefit Society
Udemy is an online learning marketplace where more than three million students have taken courses in everything from programming to yoga to photography. Each of the company’s more than eighteen thousand courses is taught by an expert instructor, and every course is available on-demand so that students can learn at their own pace, on their own time, and on any device.
The company has announced that it will award grants of $2,500 to nonprofit organizations to support the creation of a course on the Udemy platform. Courses should provide social value, creating benefits (or reductions of cost) for society. Course ideas include but are not limited to teacher training, entrepreneur empowerment, and education for community members. Applicants should know their audience and have a clear plan to reach it through their existing networks.
Two grants will be awarded each month. Applicants must be considered tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and should apply by the first day of the month to be considered in that month’s funding round.
Visit the Udemy website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
