Black Empowerment Forum set for September 13th
The Philadelphia Community of Leaders (PCOL) will hold a General Assembly and Black Empowerment Forum on Saturday, September 13th from 9am to 4pm at Universal Audenreid Charter High School, 3301 Tasker Street in South Philadelphia.
The purpose of the event is to continue PCOL’s efforts to highlight the issues facing the region’s African American community with the goal of developing clear action items that will begin to change the trajectory of the community.
The event will feature a keynote address from Rev. Al Sharpton and a panel discussion with Dr. William Hite, superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia, Quibila Divine, NAACP Education Chair; Dr. Marcus Bright, director of Education for a Better America, and David Johnson, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans.
