Job network launches “Win-Win Challenge”
Greater Philadelphia is facing a workforce crisis.
There’s a mismatch between the skills of many people in our regional workforce and the skills required for high growth jobs in the region. To help address this issue, the Job Opportunity Investment Network (JOIN), has launched the Win-Win Challenge, a new funding opportunity for nonprofit organizations to develop the next great workforce partnership in Greater Philadelphia.
Through the Win-Win Challenge, JOIN will invest in nonprofit organizations able to build workforce partnerships that develop the region’s human capital while meeting the needs of regional employers.
A public-private partnership of philanthropy, government, community organizations and local employers, JOIN expects to award up to four unique planning grants (up to $50,000 each) to organizations that demonstrate their ability to serve as a bridge between regional employers and qualified workers.
Following the completion of the planning phase, JOIN anticipates awarding up to two two-year implementation grants (up to $300,000 each) to partnerships that demonstrate the greatest potential for innovative program delivery.
In addition to receiving grant funding, selected partners will also receive peer support and technical assistance, access to the National Fund for Workforce Solutions annual meeting, programmatic evaluation and case studies, one-on-one support from JOIN staff and consultants, and opportunities to share learnings and results with policy, program, media and philanthropic leaders. Win-Win Challenge partners will also be expected to report their outcomes on a regular basis.
The deadline to apply for the Win-Win Challenge is September 15th. For more details and information on eligibility, visit here.
