Development Director, Turning Points for Children

Working in close collaboration with the CEO, the Director of Development will execute on a comprehensive development strategy for Turning Points for Children and all fundraising efforts. The position entails direct fundraising and working with and supporting the senior management team and the board of directors with its fundraising plans. S/he also will also communicate the Turning Points for Children story to constituents. The best candidates will be well connected in the Philadelphia fundraising community. The Director of Development will expand and diversify the Turning Points for Children donor base/pipeline and work closely with other team members to secure funding for new initiatives. In addition, s/he will work closely with the board of directors and support board members as they take on a more active fundraising role. It is expected that the amount raised by Turning Points for Children will increase in future years as the Development Director systematically and effectively strengthens the organization’s overall fundraising capacity.

Responsibilities
•Design development strategy for Turning Points for Children: Work with the management team to identify funds needed, preferred funding targets and approaches
•Conduct research, prospecting, and solicitation/application to multiple donor sources
•Implement fundraising activities including solicitations, calls, campaigns, etc.
•Build a robust donor base: Find new donors and develop and maintain key long-term relationships with donors and prospects
•Monitor all donor information; provide and present statistical analysis to board and senior leaders
•Develop and implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors
•Oversee research of funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help position Turning Points for Children ahead of major funding changes or trends
•Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program
•Identify, develop, and mentor the development team
•Communicate fundraising goals and progress throughout the Turning Points for Children organization
