Wheelchair Games seeks volunteers
Volunteers of all ages are needed to give their time and talent to support the 34th National Veterans Wheelchair Games, taking place in Philadelphia August 12-17, 2014.
The Games present a great opportunity for civic engagement, social responsibility, and community involvement to give back to veterans.
With more than 600 athletes anticipated to compete in Philadelphia, volunteers are needed to assist with sporting events from archery to weightlifting, as well as serving as greeters at the airport, hospitality messengers, meal assistants, and much more.
Individuals can volunteer with their companies or even with their families. The minimum age requirement to volunteer is 14, but younger individuals can serve as fans in the stands or cheer the athletes when medals are awarded.
There are also volunteer opportunities throughout the day.
