Online Training: Creative Recruitment of Volunteers
Posted by on July 23, 2007
With fall quickly approaching and many new programs starting up, LEARNS is pleased to offer a free online training session on creative recruitment to be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
Recruiting volunteers for mentoring, tutoring, and other youth-serving programs can be one of the most difficult and time consuming aspects of running a quality program. Seasoned recruiters know that there is not one magic strategy that works for everyone but creativity can yield results. This webinar will explore guiding principles of effective recruitment for youth-serving volunteer programs. Participants will learn how to identify a target audience for their recruitment efforts, and explore creative recruitment strategies, including ideas for recruiting more male volunteers!
Participants will:
a) Understand the guiding principles of volunteer recruitment.
b) Learn how to identify a target audience for their recruitment efforts.
c) Become familiar with various recruitment strategies.
d) Gain ideas for recruiting more male volunteers.
The one-hour session will be hosted by Amy Cannata and Erich Stiefvater of the LEARNS project at the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory. To participate, you will need both a reliable Internet connection and a phone line to connect to a toll-free teleconference number. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. To register and receive connection information, please email Erich Stiefvater at stiefvae@nwrel.org.
Thank you, and we hope you will join us.
Best regards,
