Position
Organizer of Financial Advancement Network (FAN) Clubs.
Purpose
Organize and/or coordinate 15 Financial Advancement Network (FAN) Clubs. (FAN Clubs are educational and peer support organizations that are composed of clients or employees of a host agency such as a social service agency, school or employer. A Club meets six times for 1-2 hours over the course of 1-3 months. A Club must be composed of 5-15 members and must be sponsored by a host institution.)
Responsibilities
The FAN Club Organizer will be responsible for the following:
1. Generate contacts for potential host agencies, and reach out to and recruit organizations to host a club ? email, mail and phone correspondence, meetings, etc. (Approximately 5-10 hours per week in order to organize 12 new clubs in 6 months.)
2. Provide technical assistance to organizations hosting a club (Approximately 3-6 hours per week to organize 12 new clubs in 6 months):
– Find club instructor.
– Maintain correspondence with host agency contact (phone, email, etc).
– Facilitate the first club meeting on occasion.
– Coordinate program evaluation (surveys before and after).
3. Coordinate the implementation of three clubs that have already been organized.
(Approximately 2 hours per week for one month.)
Time Period
This contract is for the period beginning February 12 through June 30, 2007.
Location of Work
The FAN Club Organizer, as a consultant to GPUAC, may work from his/her own base or may use a small desk at GPUAC in the Department of Community and Economic Development at 1207 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
Supervision
The FAN Club Organizer will report to Donald Kelly, Director of Community and Economic Development.
Fee for Consultant?s Services
Fee payment is hourly. The hourly rate is $50. The maximum compensation will be $10,000. This represents 200 hours at $50/hour and an average of 10 hours per week for approximately 20 weeks. As a consultant, the FAN Club Organizer is responsible for his/her own insurance, benefits and payment of taxes.
