Mural Arts AVRP Lead Instructor
AVRP- The Adolescent Violence Reduction Partnership is new initiative from Mayor Street addressing students 10-15 who are risk for violence, or have had exposure to violence. Overall program provides various interventions from mental health, tutoring, counseling, depending on the need of the youth. Mural Arts is providing one component to the program and will be required for many of the students. Lead Instructor – Work directly with youth and muralist. Create and implement art based lessons plans and curriculum. Lead youth through the mural making process working with muralist through various interactive arts based activities. Candidates must have good classroom management skills, experience with youth and a desire to work with at-risk youth. Preference will be given to those with a degree in Art or Art Education. Program will run January ? June 2007, Monday-Thursday afterschool hours and 1-2 Saturdays a month.
