BILINGUAL OUTREACH & MARKETING COORDINATOR
The Empowerment Group is a non-profit organization based in North Philadelphia. The organization?s mission is to accelerate economic growth in distressed urban communities by cultivating local entrepreneurship. The Empowerment Group envisions successful businesses and empowered individuals sustaining and enriching their communities, thus building a stronger Philadelphia. The Empowerment Group seeks candidates with a passion for marketing and fighting poverty for the position of Bilingual Outreach & Marketing Coordinator under its Philadelphia Entrepreneurship Program (PEP).
* The PEP Bilingual Outreach & Marketing Coordinator will outreach to the Empowerment Zone residents and startup businesses in order to expand the service options of PEP?s bilingual adult entrepreneurship program. Should be familiar with the target demographic and the Empowerment Zone and will market the Philadelphia Entrepreneurship Program in order to recruit participants from the Empowerment Zone.
* The PEP Bilingual Outreach & Marketing Coordinator will assess how the valuable services offered by PEP can be expanded to South Philadelphia?s growing Mexican and other Hispanic population. Should be familiar with South Philadelphia and the target demographic.
* In addition, the PEP Bilingual Outreach & Marketing Coordinator will coordinate a major, city-wide marketing campaign promoting Latino Philadelphia attracting new customers to the area and to businesses served by the Empowerment Group.

Job description:
Empowerment Zone
Market the Philadelphia Entrepreneurship Program by distributing flyers and information within the Empowerment Zone.
Recruit adult students among the Empowerment Zone residents and/or future entrepreneurs with the intention of establishing businesses in the Empowerment Zone.
Coordinate and facilitate neighborhood promotional and informative activities to market the Philadelphia Entrepreneurship Program among the Empowerment Zone residents.
Outreach to startup businesses in the community.
Enter and keep track of EZ residents and businesses into our database.
Prepare weekly progress report.
Assist with fundraising and grant reporting.
South Philadelphia Feasibility Study
? Conduct an exhaustive evaluation of local service organizations in South Philadelphia in order to ensure that PEP services are in no way seen as competing with other organizations.
? Meet key stakeholders and leaders by attending neighborhood meetings and be aware of projects that may engage in that they relate to the expansion of PEP to South Philadelphia.
? Organize and facilitate focus group meetings.
? Create and distribute surveys to assess interest in entrepreneurship.
? Outreach and meet local business owners.
? Prepare weekly progress report.
? After the 3-reasearch phases of the planning process are complete, draft a thorough plan for EG/PEP interventions into South Philadelphia.
Latino Philadelphia
? Develop marketing structure and coordinate the marketing effort of the Latino Philadelphia campaign.
? Motivate and enlist local businesses to participate in the marketing campaign of Latino Philadelphia.
? Establish partnerships which would support the effort of the Latino Philadelphia campaign.
? Work with graphic design and local media to promote strategic.
? Distribute flyers and install banners along the target area.
? Prepare weekly progress report.
Qualifications
? Experience working with the Philadelphia Latino community.
? Fully proficient in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
? Equivalent to a Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration.
? Excellent writing skills.
? Experience organizing marketing campaigns a plus.
? Excellent communication and people skills, exceptional customer service.
? A self-starter who is motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and enjoys taking on new projects; ability to multitask.
? Approaches work as a team-player, but also with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
? Ability to motivate others.
? Passion for fighting poverty.
? Experience running a business a plus.
? Experience working in the Non-Profit sector a plus.
Working conditions
The position requires forty hours per week in office and out in the field.
