Community Health Educator, Stop Smoking Program

COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATOR

Drexel University’s Stop Smoking Programs for Women, funded through the Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s Tobacco Control Initiative, is seeking a qualified candidate who will be responsible for the management of the smoking cessation programs and support groups for women, establishing and maintaining internal and external referral linkages, preparing and submitting monthly tracking reports and maintaining the program budget.

Qualified candidate will have the following skills:

* Group facilitation or group therapy experience
* Experience in community outreach and education
* Ability to work with individuals at all levels from senior administration to diverse, underserved communities
* Program planning, implementation and evaluation
* Excellent oral and written skills
* Proficient use of PC and internet
* Ability to handle multiple, complex tasks with minimal supervision
* Ability to use sound and independent judgment
* Creativity and long range planning
* Budget management and oversight

Experience
Master’s degree in health education, public health or social services, 3-5 years of proven experience in community outreach and education and/or therapeutic group facilitation. Experience with program planning, implementation and evaluation is a plus.
