Child Health Watch Associate
Philadelphia Citizens for Children and Youth is searching for a fulltime staff person to manage our Child Health Watch helpline which assists children to access health insurance and health care.
Responsibilities include:
? Advocating on behalf of families having difficulties with health insurance, access to care, or other related issues.
? Working with County Assistance Offices and Department of Public Welfare to maintain and improve the system of insuring families.
? Developing flyers and other written materials.
? Working with other agencies to identify trends in public health insurance issues and on how to address these issues.
? Organizing and participating in meetings relevant to children?s health insurance and public health issues.
? Conducting trainings on the intricacies of enrollment into public health insurance and on advocating for children?s health.
? Maintaining Child Health Watch database.
? Publicizing Child Health Watch through hospitals, child care centers, schools, etc.
Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelors degree; Must possess strong interpersonal, writing and computer skills. Familiarity or fluency in a second language is preferred.
