YOUNG AUDIENCES OF EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, INC.

POSITION: PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Program Director will be responsible for directing the education components of Young Audiences activities in schools, school districts and with regional cultural and educational institutions. This person will also serve as key program liaison between the organization and over 200 constituents. Responsibilities include: generating earned revenue from schools and community venues; selecting, training, orienting, evaluating and assessing over 125 roster artists and 55 programs; developing, coordinating and implementing arts education programs and projects for the organization; facilitating residency-planning between schools and artists; develop in-service and professional development opportunities for teachers; oversee research and writing of curriculum materials for each program; contribute to annual publications; attend Board and Program Committees as requested by the Executive Director; represent the organization at conferences and partnership meetings; coordinate and oversee annual showcase, Arts for Learning production and other special projects; other general responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications: REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree in education, arts education, performing arts or related field; at least 5 years relevant experience working in the field of arts education or arts programming; current working knowledge of regional school districts and cultural community; demonstrated experience working with teaching artists; strong writing, presentation and organizational skills; advanced computer skills, including fluency in MS Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro (Experience with Pagemaker, Quark or other design software a plus) PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in related field; classroom teaching experience; knowledge of PA academic standards.

30 hours per week. Salary: $32,000. This is a 36-month grant position. MUST have access to car, valid driver’s licenses and insurance. Mail or email cover letter, resume and professional writing sample to:
