Phila. Education Fund – College Access Program ISO Transition Coordinator

The College Access Program aims to improve access to postsecondary education for Philadelphia public school students. It maintains a full-time staff of 20 who work in a central office and at 3 College Access Centers and 21 schools across Philadelphia. The program works in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, colleges and universities, community groups and businesses.
The Transition Coordinator is charged with providing re-entry services to a cohort of students who have dropped out or stopped out of high school or college. All of the following responsibilities are part of the Program’s federally funded Talent Search Dropout/Stopout project.
Responsibilities :
Plan and implement a workplan for the Dropout/Stopout Transition project; Work a schedule of hours which includes evenings and weekends and includes time at the College Access Center; Local travel to provide services at community sites and schools; Maintain a current listing of GED, Twilight and adult education programs across the city as well as procedures for reenrolling students into regular high school programs; Advise students and families about college preparation, applications, and financial aid; Maintain good documentation of activities and student contacts; Assume responsibility for program-wide and special projects; Work with College Access colleagues to carry out center and program-wide activities
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree; Student focused; Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in preparing older and adult students for postsecondary education; Good knowledge of college admissions and financial aid issues.
Compensation :
Salary commensurate with experience begins in $30,000 range; benefit package includes health benefits, TIAA-CREF pension, three weeks vacation plus five days at Christmas, life and disability insurance.
