Announcing 2007-2010 21st Century Community Learning Center Request for Application (RFA)
The 21st CCLC program provides federal funding for the establishment of community learning centers that provide academic, artistic and cultural enrichment opportunities for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools, to meet state and local standards in core academic subjects; to offer students a broad array of activities that can complement their regular academic programs and to offer literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children. Contracts with successful applicants will be issued for a three-year period beginning October 1st, 2007, with the possibility of continuation for an additional two-year period. The minimum grant award is $50,000 per year. Applications must be received by 4 P.M. on Friday, June 29, 2007.
Pre-proposal Conferences: The Department will conduct one pre-proposal workshop in Camp Hill on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, and one Elluminate? Webinar on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, where attendees will be provided information about the goals and priorities of the 21st Century program, application procedures, evaluation criteria and technical assistance and resource information about high-quality programming and related state and federal requirements.
The Camp Hill workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from 9:30 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel, 1150 Camp Hill Bypass, Camp Hill, PA 17011 with registration from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A. M. The workshop will begin promptly at 9:30 A.M. Responses to questions asked at the pre-proposal workshops will be posted on this website. The Elluminate? session will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, from 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Registration will be limited to the first 100 who register.
