Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation Accepting Grant Applications for Domestic Violence Shelter Program
Deadline: July 30, 2009
With support from Mary Kay Inc., the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation (http://www.mkacf.org/) works to eliminate domestic violence. Every October, the foundation observes National Domestic Violence Awareness Month by awarding grants to deserving women’s shelters across the United States. In 2008, the foundation awarded grants of $20,000 each to more than 150 women’s shelters across the nation.
The foundation is accepting applications for the 2009 program and will award a grant to at least one shelter in every state of the U.S. Any remaining funds will be distributed based on state population. The funds awarded by the foundation may be used for the operating budget of the shelter, with the exception of staff travel. Shelter grant applications and a list of 2008 grantees are available at the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation Web site.
