Grant: Weed and Seed Communities
Funds for projects to weed out criminal behavior, seed in neighborhood restoration services and address persistent gang activity, drug abuse and violent crime.
Funder: U.S. Department of Justice, Community Capacity Development Office.
Eligibility: Any urban, rural or Indian tribe and tribal community with a persistent high level of serious violent crime that has not been previously funded under the program.
Deadline: Jan. 31 for final proposals.
Amount: Each five-year grant totals up to $1 million.
