Kessler Foundation Announces 2007 Grant Opportunities for Disability Employment in New Jersey
Deadline: Various

The Mission of the Henry H. Kessler Foundation (<a href="http://www.hhkfdn.org/">http://www.hhkfdn.org/</a>) is to improve the lives of people with physical disabilities. The foundation does this by supporting the research of the Kessler Medical Rehabilitation Research and Education Corporation, by engaging in activities to assist people with physical disabilities, and by supporting the efforts of others who serve people with physical disabilities.

The foundation has announced the availability of new grant guidelines for the 2007 Signature Employment and Community Employment Grant programs.

Signature Employment Program Grants: This multi-year grant program supports projects in New Jersey that increase opportunities for people with disabilities to obtain competitive employment. Programs must be collaborative, have multiple funding sources, and serve a large geographic area. The one- to three-year grants range from $100,000 to $250,000 each. After a grant is awarded by the foundation, there is an opportunity to apply for a 1:1 dollar match up to $100,000 for the same grant project. Organizations located outside of the service area may apply providing the project is based in New Jersey. Applicants must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. (Letter of Intent Deadline: December 29, 2006.)

Community Employment Grants: This program supports projects, programs, pilot initiatives, and creative solutions that work toward improving the employment and career advancement of New Jersey citizens with disabilities. Grants are for one year and range from $25,000 to $50,000 each. Organizations may apply for either project/program funds or general operating funds. After the grant is awarded by the foundation, there is an opportunity to apply for a 1:1 match up to $15,000 for the same program. Applicants must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. (Application Deadline: December 15, 2006.)
