Entries Invited for Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence
Deadline: December 18, 2006
A program of the Bruner Foundation (<a href="http://www.brunerfoundation.org/">http://www.brunerfoundation.org/</a>), the Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence is given to urban places in the United States that demonstrate the successful integration of effective process, meaningful values, and good design. RBA winners are distinguished by their social, economic, and contextual contributions to the urban environment, and often provide innovative solutions to cities’ most challenging problems.
The RBA awards one Gold Medal of $50,000 and four Silver Medals of $10,000 each. Case studies of winners are published at the foundation’s Web site and in a book distributed by the Bruner Foundation.
To be eligible for the award, the project must be located in the continental United States. There are no distinct categories. Projects may include any type of place that makes a positive contribution to the urban built environment. Urban environment is broadly defined to include cities, towns, villages, neighborhoods, counties, and/or regions.
The application may be submitted by anyone involved in the planning, development, or operation of a project, including a representative of city, county, state, or federal government; a developer; a design or planning professional; a community or neighborhood group; an educational or cultural institution; or a business. The Bruner Foundation welcomes a wide variety of applicants and projects.
For further information and the application, contact the foundation’s offices or visit its Web site.
