J. Jill Compassion Fund to Support Programs for Poor and Homeless Women
Deadline: December 1, 2006
The J. Jill Compassion Fund, a donor-advised fund at the Boston Foundation (<a href="http://www.tbf.org/">http://www.tbf.org/</a>), is committed to providing support to community-based organizations that help poor and homeless women become self-sufficient.
Eligible organizations must be community-based organizations serving poor and homeless women in their respective states; have tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; and be located near one or more J. Jill stores for priority consideration.
Funding preferences are to support, enhance, or expand existing programs rather than fund new (first-year) programs — for example, existing programs that provide job training, education, transitional, and/or affordable housing to poor and homeless women; or that break down barriers for poor and homeless women to achieve and sustain self-sufficiency.
For 2007, priority will be given to programs and organizations that positively impact poor and homeless women; directly affect the people served; are located in either Michigan, Oregon, Washington, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin; have established a relationship with or connection to one or more J. Jill stores; and are located in a state where a J. Jill Compassion Fund grant has not previously been awarded.
Proposals for the 2007 grant cycle must be postmarked between October 15, 2006, and December 1, 2006.
Visit the J. Jill Web site for complete program information and application procedures.
