How can the principles of service-learning be applied in inner-city environments? What are the issues and opportunities that educators and students face in urban areas?

This two-day session focuses on applying the principles of service-learning in inner-city environments. Join us as we bring together community voices to discuss service-learning outreach and application techniques that help students achieve excellence in urban settings. The schedule has been designed to allow for small-group interactions and large-group gatherings.

Arne Duncan, Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Public Schools, will open the Institute. Invited speakers include Dr. Verna Cornelia Price of J. Cameron & Associates and Dr. Patti Smith of Education Alliance.

Location: Courtyard by Marriott, Downtown Chicago, Ill. (Registrants will be provided with directions.)

Fee: $275.(Sorry, no single day registrations.) Fee includes materials, two continental breakfasts, two lunches, and one dinner.
