Meeting the Challenges of Great Lakes Stewardship: Civic Engagement and Service-Learning Conference, March 27-28, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together undergraduate faculty and students in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines along with Great Lakes stewardship policy experts and practitioners for the purpose of more effectively integrating stewardship concepts and practices with undergraduate coursework. A special focus of the conference will be water quality in the Great Lakes. This conference is being organized under the auspices of the Midwest Center for Innovation of the NSF-funded program SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities).
We encourage participation in the conference by undergraduate faculty, undergraduate students, and collaborating community partners in Pennsylvania. Registration rates have been designed to incentivize teams representing these three stakeholder groups. Complete information on the conference is accessible at the following website:
