MLK Day in Tinicum
Posted by on January 10, 2003
The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum has an exciting year planned for volunteers and visitors. Our first volunteer event will occur on the morning of January 20th – Martin Luther King Day. To celebrate the contributions of Martin Luther King, the refuge will have a special day of service. Fifteen members of the Environmental Protection Agency will be on hand to help beautify the Refuge. You are invited to assist as well. The outside project will include removal of trash from the banks of the Darby Creek. Hot chocolate and snacks will be served at the end of the chilly project.
Please contact me if you intend to participate in the MLK Day of Service. By contacting me you will assure that the proper amount of tools and materials (and snacks) will be on hand. Stay tuned for many more exciting Centennial activities in the months to come.
