Science, Gender and Afrerschool Webcasts Available

The Educational Equity Center (EEC) and the Center for Youth Development and Policy Research (CYDPR), at the Academy for Educational Development (AED), are pleased to announce two webcasts available for your viewing on the Science Gender and Afterschool Community of Practice website: http://www.afterschool.org/sga

Exploring the Impact: Informal Science Experiences for Girls – An innovative research effort exploring the role informal science learning plays in supporting girls’ long-term interest in science. Presented by Dr. Dale McCreedy from The Franklin Institute and Dr. Lynn Dierking from the Institute for Learning Innovation. Duration: 35 min.
Successful After-School Science Partnerships – The National Girls Collaborative Project brings together organizations that are committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in STEM. Presented by Karen Peterson from the Puget Sound Center for Learning and Technology, and Dr. Martha Peet from the Texas Center for Educational Technology. Duration: 28 min.
