Young People in the Fight for Quality Public Education

GETTING STUDENTS INVOLVED IN THE FIGHT FOR QUALITY PUBLIC EDUCATION
Of all the groups with a vested interest in improving schools in America, no group has more to gain — or lose — than students themselves. At the same time, young people across the country have the potential to mobilize the kind of public demand and political will necessary to bring about quality public education for all of America?s children. With these beliefs in mind, Our Education, a new non-profit organization founded by a pair of recent college graduates, is working to build a national youth movement for better schools. The organization is currently in the first months of its “A Million Voices, One Right” petition campaign to reach out to hundreds of thousands of 13-24 year olds in support of quality public education as an American right, and people can view, sign, and help spread the word about the petition at:
