Member Services at CTCNet (Community Technology Centers)
Posted by on November 17, 2006
New member services and staff at CTCNet:
* Member Services – more detail on each of the following is now posted on CTCNet’s home page (http://www.ctcnet.org):
* What is Community Technology Video. A group of youth produced this video at the 2006 CTCNet conference, providing a glimpse of our members’ responses to defining community technology and other things they do as computer users. Don’t miss this wonderfully entertaining piece – and feel free to link to it from your own websites.
* Connections for All. C4All is our new project to enhance the capacity of CTCs to serve people with disabilities and integrate the best practices of universal design. We will deliver 10 C4All training institutes between November 2006 and January 2007, and then run a competitive grant process for all attendees. 14 CTCs will then receive $20,000 C4All grants.
* Youth Visions curriculum & Videos. On Nov. 3rd, you’ll have access to videos produced by CTCNet member organizations over the last 3 years of our Youth Visions project. Many of you were able to watch some of these videos at the film festival we hosted at the July CTCNet conference, highlighting community issues identified by the participating youth; issues such as identity, teen pregnancy and gentrification. CTCNet will also release its 3-year field-tested Youth Visions curriculum, which CTCNet Members and other organizations will be able to order. Check back in November for access to these great new resources from CTCNet and your fellow members!
* 2007 Annual Conference. Next summer’s CTCNet conference will be held in Los Angeles, California! We’ve not yet finalized the space and date, but expect to let you know within a month.
* CTCNet Staff. We’ve just about completed our staff transitions from the past few months and so want to keep you informed as to who is on board at CTCNet. Our staff now includes:
Hanh Le, Director of Programs. Hanh is responsible for providing direction to CTCNet’s programs, member services and staff.
Jenn Raley Miller, Program Manager. Jenn recently joined us and will primarily be working on our new Connections for All project, as well as other Member Services.
Stephen Quinn continues to manage our national member services and is working on securing a space for our 2007 conference. As soon as we have a date, Stephen will let you know.
We need to fill one more position at our DC office — Membership & Operations Coordinator. Hanh will share that job posting with the list later this week.
And I will be with CTCNet through November 2006, while the Board finalizes its selection of a new Executive Director.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to myself or the staff (http://ctcnet.org/who/staff.htm). We hope to see many of you at the C4All Institutes!
