2006 EDUCATION VITAL SIGNS: U.S. SCHOOLS IN FACTS & FIGURES
American School Board Journal presents state-by-state figures on student enrollment, teacher salaries, per-pupil expenditures, assessment scores, and other gauges of the health and well-being of our nation?s schools. Other articles explore international comparisons of student performance, preschool education, high school graduation, student health, education law and finance, and the No Child Left Behind Act. This report card on American education is mixed, with high grades in some areas, low ones in others. But as these articles make abundantly clear, there is plenty of room for reflection, reform, and renewal. A great web page to include in your browser “favorites” section for easy reference throughout the year.
