Community Partnership Case Study: Scandinavian Studies

The University of Washington has released a case study in its series on UW-community partnerships, this one focusing on the work of faculty and students of the Department of Scandinavian Studies.

Case studies examine the motivation, history of development, and impact of UW-community partnerships. They have sought to surface the ways in which UW-community partnerships are an expression of the core research and education missions of the university and to understand the benefits these partnerships bring to communities and to the UW.

Case studies on the Departments of Pediatric Dentistry and Landscape Architecture were completed in 2003, and the case study on Computer Science and Engineering was completed in 2004. A case study on UW Yakima Valley Community Partnership is also available. They are currently working on an additional case focusing on the rich and multi-faceted history of work between the Seattle Art Museum and numerous UW departments. It will be available in the fall of 2005.
