Report Focuses on the Health and Well-Being of Young Children in Immigrant Families
The Health and Well-Being of Young Children of Immigrants examines research on the health and well-being of children ages 6 and younger in immigrant families (those with at least one parent born outside the United States). The report was published by the Urban Institute with support from the Foundation for Child Development and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. It is divided into six broad sections: ( 1) immigration trends and impacts; (2) poverty, family structure, and parents’ work; (3) risk factors for poor school performance among young children of immigrants; (4) hardship and benefit use among young children of immigrants; (5) health status and insurance coverage; and (6) child care arrangements.
