Manna Community Development Corporation (Manna CDC) presents:
Building by Building: A Tenant Leadership Manual
Manna CDC is a progressive organizing and equitable community development organization working primarily in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC. The CDC is helping forge a model and legacy of community-led organizing and capacity building for justice and systemic change in the District of Columbia. Given its long-time work in policy advocacy and organizing to preserve affordable housing, Manna CDC has published Building by Building?a critical tool that:
? can be used by Tenant Associations, community members, organizers, popular educators and K-12 teachers
? provides a clear path for organizing and strengthening the skills and leadership of residents to retake their rights to community controlled housing
? delivers popularized technical assistance for tenant associations seeking to organize and to purchase their buildings
? provides a comprehensive approach to community organizing that moves beyond simple affordable housing advocacy
On Friday, January 21 Manna CDC unveiled Building by Building and will ?go public? with its new phase of work and mission.
