NATIONAL NETWORK OF FEDERALLY FUNDED PARENT INFORMATION RESOURCE CENTERS
Title V of No Child Left Behind authorizes establishing parental information and resource centers (PIRCs) that provide training, information, and support to parents, school districts, and other organizations that carry out parent education and family involvement programs. A major goal of the Centers is to support parents in helping their children meet states’ high academic standards. With funding from the U.S. Department of Education, more than 80 PIRCs are working to inform and educate parents, family advocates, educators, community organizers, faith-based activists and others committed to educational success for all students, especially low-income, minority, and English language learning.
